Ada Shymore and The Boogie Men continue in a cool jazz mood with this song about a man in the band that attracts with his looks and his playing. A member of the Boogie Men, Walt Jesmine is featured on the sax in solos and an extended ending. Ada appears to have found her style of music with jazz, at least for the moment. You never know when one of the artists at Big And Tall Records may break out with something completely different!
A man in the band caught my eyeHe plays his sax just so smooth
His sound is hot, that's no lie
And he always stays in the groove
The question for me always is
How much involvement do I want?
Happy with my life how it is
His looks and his sound really haunt
Do I wanna, or do I don't
Think he can really float my boat
But a musician truly born
Could love nothin' but his horn!
I know the leader of the band
So I asked him between sets
About that man with sax in hand
The muscles in his face he flexed
And he said,
Oh hell, don't get involved with him!
He treats women like their cattle!
Chance of a good outcome is slim
Be a trophy on his mantle!
It pays to have friends, I'll say
Not goin' there, ain't no way
Too bad, but I'm not too forlorn
I can still listen to his horn!
Imagine sounds from my heart strings
And other...very private...things...
