Un Grupo de Mexicali - Canción de Cumpleaños (Birthday Song)

 This is the 2nd offering from Un Grupo de Mexicali, and the title of Birthday Song refers to one of their lead guitarists and his wife having a baby boy, their first.  It is but one example of the variety of songs that Mariachi bands play. Most of us think of them with high spirited, even boisterous songs with plenty of yelling and general good times. But Mariachis play at all kinds of events; weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and funerals. The first part of this song is more heart-felt, slow and congratulatory while the 2nd part lets its hair down more.This is a tough group to get into the studio.They are in big demand all over Mexico. but they're an interesting, very talented   group of musicians! 

A son has been born

For the Mama, Papa, and Baby
