Ada Shymore and The Boogie Men - Let's Go Out (Jazz Version)

When Ada Shymore conferred with the leaders of The Noir Players over the possibility of working together, the players themselves suggested after the recording session that there were other possibilities for her song Let's Go Out. She was intrigued, and sat down with the groups arranger and they came up with a version quite different from the first Rock style version.

This project shows the ability of Ada to sing in different styles, and it also shows how a set of lyrics can be set to more than one style of music! The arranger, Stewart Bitsher, is a classically trained musician that plays cello in the orchestra as well as doing the majority of arranging for the group. He also has extensive experience in jazz, which no doubt came in handy with this arrangement. We at Big And Tall Records invite your own comparison between the versions! Let's Go Out (Rock Version)

I don't know you much, we just recent met
But you seem to be a good guy
Nice polite and calm, easy goin' too
Got some thoughts, I'll tell you why
My usual man, is just a huge drag
He wants to stay home, watch TV
I'm tired of all that, tired bein' a nag
Want someone that really wants me!

Let's get kinky! Let's get hinky!
Let's go out and have some fun
Wanna get lit! Don't give a shit!
I'll make like you're the only one
It's really alright, to go with me tonight
Don 't really bite unless I might
Let's go out and smoke! Do a heavy toke!
Let's go out get dirty tonight!

Can go for a drive, go out to eat
Nothin' fancy, just fill the hole
I'm the one askin', it's my treat
Have a good talk, decide my role
Then go to a place we can dance
I like for a man to hold me
Music puts me in a cool trance
Then we'll see if you're home free!
Been without too long, I'll confide
I'm not saying you'll spend the night
But I like you lots, will not hide
We just might see the morning light

Let's go have a drink! Let the night time sink!
As we stay close. get into trouble
Not heavy duty! Smoke, shake our booty
Let's go make it on the double!
Get just a little tight! That'll make it right!
For what I've got on my mind
Have to wait and see, if you're right for me
But you look good, I sure ain't blind!

What do you say to that, big boy?
Have I come on way too strong?
I have something to deploy
That might make you come along!
I can hold my own, don't worry
'Bout taking advantage of me
Who uses who will be blurry
So let all your desires free
We'll use most the night finding out
If we're really good as it seems
Talk and learn, remove all doubt
And see if we have sweet dreams

What do you say? Goin' my way?
This just might be your last chance
No venture, no gain! Made it pretty plain
Let's go out and have a romance!
Told you the plan! You be my man?
Long to get on out of myself
Words will suffice, be really nice....
I'm tired of being on the shelf!
